Academic & executive function coaching · Grades 8–12
Your student is capable.
The system is what's missing.
Organization, planning, time management, follow-through. School expects students to arrive with these and rarely teaches them. That's what we teach.
Under 90 seconds. No email required to see your results.
The premise
Students don't have to become someone else to succeed.
They need the right support, strategies, and systems to grow from where they are.
Falling behind
Reaching toward stability, passing, and confidence.
Holding it together
Reaching toward sustainability, so it isn't this hard.
Headed to college
Reaching toward independence.
Same system. Different starting point. Different destination.
Where to begin
Where is your student right now?
Falling behind
Capable, but the work isn't getting done, turned in, or tracked. Grades don't reflect what they know. You've become the reminder system.
Toward stability and confidence
Holding it together
Good grades, no real system. It works, but it costs late nights and more effort than it should. One heavy semester from falling apart.
Toward sustainability
Headed to college
A solid high school system about to lose everything holding it up — the parent down the hall, the teacher who reminds, the day with bells.
Toward independence
Three different students. One system, adjusted to where they're starting.
Student Success Snapshot
Find out what's actually in place.
Eleven questions about how your student handles school, across the executive function skills that decide whether a week holds together. You'll see what's working, what isn't yet, and where I'd start.

The difference that matters
Tutoring teaches the subject.
Coaching teaches the student.
A tutor helps with Tuesday's chemistry. A coach makes sure your student knows chemistry is due Tuesday, has a plan to study for it, and follows that plan without being asked.
Tutoring
When the material is the problem
- Teaches the content of a class
- Focused on one subject
- Helps with tonight's assignment
- Success means the work gets done
Academic coaching
When managing the work is the problem
- Teaches the skills behind every class
- Focused on the whole school load
- Builds a system for every assignment
- Success means your student runs it
If your student doesn't understand the material, hire a tutor. If they understand it and still can't get it turned in — or understand it fine and are exhausted by the effort — that's coaching.
The method
The Reach to Rise System
Reach and Rise happen in every session. Achieve is what comes out of it.
REACH
Where am I? Where do I want to go?
Goals, strengths, current reality, direction. Every session starts here, because a plan that isn't connected to something your student wants won't survive a hard week.
RISE
What skills and systems do I need?
Executive functioning, study strategy, self-management, planning. This is where the teaching happens, and it's the part of every session that never gets cut.
ACHIEVE
Can I run this on my own?
Not a stage you buy. It's what the other two produce — and it's how we know the work is finished.
Programs
Two ways to work together
Pricing is published. You shouldn't have to sit through a phone call to find out what something costs.
1:1 Academic Coaching
Weekly coaching for any student building or rebuilding the way they run school.

- 45-minute one-to-one session, once a week
- 18 weeks — one full semester

- 60-minute sessions, twice a week
- Written growth note for parents every week
- Three-month expectation

Payment. Pay in full, or billed weekly to the payment method on file. All payments are processed securely online.
*A 3% surcharge applies to credit card payments and does not exceed our cost of acceptance.
Debit and prepaid cards are not surcharged.
Scheduling. Sessions follow the school calendar. A visible booking calendar runs first come, first served, so you can plan your semester around your family's schedule.
Rescheduling with 24 hours' notice is free; sessions missed without notice are forfeited, with one courtesy exception per program.
Program fees are non-refundable once paid; prepaid undelivered sessions convert to credits valid for 12 months. Full terms are in the coaching agreement, which we review together before you sign anything.
How it works
Five steps, and the first one takes 90 seconds.
Take the Snapshot
Eleven questions. Under 90 seconds, and nothing is charged.
Tell me about your student
A short application. About five minutes. Answer honestly rather than diplomatically — it makes the conversation better.
Talk it through
A free 20-minute consultation with no obligation. If coaching isn't what your student needs, I'll say so on this call and tell you what I'd do instead.
Get a plan in writing
Which skills we'd start with, which program fits, and what it costs. No pressure and no expiring offer.
Start
Sessions begin. The first weeks build the system; after that it's running it, week after week, until it stops taking effort.
What this is for
What your student walks away with
Now
- Assignments tracked in three places, or none
- The project started the night before
- Studying means re-reading
- A heavy week means shutting down
- You find out about the test when you find out about the grade
After a semester
- One system they actually use
- A weekly planning routine they run themselves
- Work broken into steps that fit an actual evening
- A hard week handled instead of avoided
- A student who checks their own grades and knows what's missing
These are skills, not scaffolding.
Your student doesn't lean on the system. They own it. And when the demands change — junior year, AP courses, a schedule with no bells — they know how to rebuild it, because they built it once already.
Inside a session
What actually happens
Every session follows the same arc. The timing shifts week to week depending on what your student walks in with. The coaching block is the one part that never gets cut.
How sessions work with a minor
From students I've taught
"I was a very quiet, shy kid, and I never really felt the smartest. She pushed me to get out of the box I had labeled myself in. Having someone believe in you can change the way you see yourself."Tiarah Wilson · Class of 2020
"Before we worked together, I was struggling to figure out my academic path and what opportunities were available to me. What changed was that I gained confidence, direction, and a clearer understanding of my options."Brevin · Former student
About
Hi, I'm Alycia Tucker.
I've spent more than ten years in K–12 education. I currently work as a Student Success Coach in a college-level nursing program, where coaching isn't reserved for students in trouble. Every student has one. It's simply how capable people stay on track when the workload is heavier than willpower can carry.
That's the model I brought back to grades 8–12.
I kept meeting students who were clearly intelligent, clearly capable, and clearly stuck — not because they weren't trying, but because the way their support was structured wasn't working. I also kept meeting the other one: the student earning As while quietly falling apart to do it.

Integrity
I don't promise magic grades.
Dignity
A struggling student isn't treated as defective.
Growth
An A student isn't treated as finished.
Potential
Current performance isn't a ceiling.

Questions parents ask first
Before you reach out.
Is this tutoring?
No. Tutoring teaches the content of a class. Coaching teaches your student how to manage all of them — planning, organizing, studying, and following through. Some students need both, and they don't conflict.
Does my student have to be struggling?
No. Some of the students who benefit most are earning good grades while working far harder than they need to, or preparing for a college schedule with none of the structure they're used to.
What grades do you work with?
Grades 8 through 12. Sessions are conversation-based and ask a student to reflect, set goals, and plan a week — most students below 8th grade aren't ready to sustain that, and I'd rather say so than take your money.
How involved am I as a parent?
Enough to know what's happening, not enough to run it. Monthly written updates for weekly coaching, weekly for Priority. The system has to belong to your student or it disappears when coaching ends.
What if my student is resistant?
Common, especially with high schoolers. I recommend involving your student in the decision and framing it as support rather than punishment. Early sessions are built for rapport and trust — most resistant students aren't opposed to help, they're opposed to being managed.
Will you communicate with my student's school or teachers?
No. I don't contact teachers, counselors, or school staff, and I don't attend school meetings. Usually the better outcome is your student learning to have that conversation themselves, which is something we work on directly.
Why 18 weeks?
It's a semester, and habits don't change in three sessions. A month gets you a plan. A semester gets you a plan your student actually runs.
Do you guarantee results?
No. Anyone guaranteeing academic outcomes is selling something. What I commit to is a clear method, consistent work, and honesty about how it's going.
