About
My Story
I've spent over a decade cultivating student success.
I'm Alycia Tucker, founder of Reach Rise Achieve.
I've spent more than ten years in K–12 education. I currently work as a Student Success Coach in a college-level nursing program, where coaching isn't reserved for students in trouble. Every student has one. It's simply how capable people stay on track when the workload is heavier than willpower can carry.
That's the model I brought back to grades 8–12.
Why I started this
I kept meeting students who were clearly intelligent, clearly capable, and clearly stuck. Not because they weren't trying. Because the way their support was structured wasn't working for them.
I also kept meeting the other student. The one earning As while quietly falling apart to do it. Nobody was worried about her, and she needed a system as much as anyone.
Both of them were reaching toward something. Neither had been taught how to get there.
What that work looks like
I check in on grades before they become a problem. I help students build schedules, plan, organize, and find resources they didn't know existed. I teach workshops for students and for faculty.
Some of my students arrive with years of experience in their field. Some arrive with none. The gap between them closes faster than anyone expects, and it almost never closes because of raw ability. It closes because of systems.
That's the whole thesis of this practice. It holds for a nursing student carrying a full clinical load, and it holds for a ninth grader carrying five classes.
How I work
Before I can teach anything, I have to build a relationship.
When students feel seen, understood, and supported, they become open to growth. That's not a soft opening — it's the part most support skips, and it's why so much of it doesn't stick.
Then we get to work. We identify what's blocking them, break it into manageable pieces, and build real skills. Together.
Who I work with
Students in grades 8–12, and the families and schools who support them.
We work on executive function, time management, study skills, and the kind of confidence it takes to walk into a classroom and truly believe you belong there.
What I stand on
Integrity
I don't promise magic grades. I promise a clear method, consistent work, and honesty about how it's going.
Dignity
A struggling student isn't defective. Most have been quietly deciding they're not smart enough, and that belief does more damage than any missing assignment.
Growth
An A student isn't finished. Some of the students who need this most are holding it together on effort alone.
Potential
Where a student is performing right now is not their ceiling.
From students I've taught
“I was a very quiet, shy kid, and I never really felt the smartest. She pushed me to get out of the box I had labeled myself in. To any student who feels shy, stuck, or not smart enough — don't put yourself in a box. Having someone believe in you can change the way you see yourself.”Tiarah Wilson · Class of 2020
“Before we worked together, I was struggling to figure out my academic path and what opportunities were available to me. What changed was that I gained confidence, direction, and a clearer understanding of my options. Alycia is someone who truly invests in her students.”Brevin · Former student
“You were more than a teacher to me. The lessons you taught me continue to shape not only how I write, but how I teach. I find myself using your methods in my own classroom today.”Aniah · Former student, now a teacher
This work is my calling.
Every student has potential they haven't reached yet. My job is to help them reach it, one small win at a time.
